The Administration on Aging (AoA), an agency in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is one of the nation's largest providers of home- and community-based care for older persons and their caregivers.

NCOA is the nation's first association of organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the dignity, self-determination, well being, and contributions of older persons.

One of 27 agencies that make up the National Institutes of Health, the NIA maintains a site that contains a wealth of information on aging.

This site was developed by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM), both part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In addition, the American Geriatrics Society provides expert and independent review of some of the material found on this web site. Each health topic includes general background information, open-captioned videos, quizzes and frequently asked questions (FAQs). New topics are added to the site on a regular basis.

LeadingAge represents 5,600 not-for-profit nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living and senior housing facilities, and home and community-based service providers.

The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (N4A) is the umbrella organization for the 655 area agencies on aging (AAAs) and more than 230 Title VI Native American aging programs in the U.S. The fundamental mission of the AAAs and Title VI programs is to provide services which make it possible for older individuals to remain in their home.

Calling itself the "oldest and original assisted living association," it represents a variety of members that range from rest homes, to assisted living facilities, to family care homes, whose clients range from those on public assistance to those who are privately financed. NCALTCF aims to promote quality of life, choice, privacy and independence for its residents and to promote quality standards among its providers.

The AAA works on behalf of older adults and their caregivers in Edgecombe, Halifax, Nash, Northampton and Wilson Counties, assisting them as they study the needs of senior adults and plan services to meet those needs.
