The ABC-CLIO E-book Collection is a database of e-books focusing on history and literature. The database is browseable by title, subject, author, and publication year. It includes e-books from these series (formerly listed on our web page as individual databases by the same names): Daily Life Through History, Critical Companions to Popular Contemporary Authors, Historic Events of the 20th Century, Literature in Context, as well as American Slavery: A Composite Autobiography.

HathiTrust is a partnership of academic & research institutions, offering a collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world.

This site provides access to the many books which are now freely available online. Most of them are classic texts which no longer have copyright restrictions, but it also includes some current items. Books are input on a volunteer basis by groups or individuals. Coverage includes a variety of subjects.

Part of UNC-Chapel Hill's Documenting the American South site, the Library currently includes over 50 digitized complete texts of significant literary works of the South published up to 1920, including novels, memoirs, slave narratives, poetry and nonfiction no longer in print. Up to 100 digitized texts are planned.
