Chicago-Style Citation Quick GuideThis page on the Chicago Manual of Style Online site gives an explanation of and links to examples for the two different versions of Chicago style used by different disciplines: 1) Notes and Bibliography Style, which features footnotes or endnotes with raised (superscript) numbers in the text corresponding to each citation in the note--often used by humanities disciplines; 2) Author-Date style, which uses a source's author and date in parentheses in the text of the paper that refers to the longer citation in a separate bibliography (this version is more similar to APA and MLA)--and is more commonly used in the sciences/social sciences.
