Library Information

The mission of the Willis N. Hackney Library at Barton College is to provide resources to support the academic curriculum of Barton College and to assist in the development of our students’ skills in the lifelong use of learning resources. Following the goals of the institution, the library also provides materials to facilitate the spiritual, social, and cultural development of the individual, along with the development of critical thinking skills.

1. Support the teaching, learning and research objectives of Barton College.

2. Acquire material requested for purchase by the faculty and professional librarians, and keep up-to-date with other resources needed by the library.

3. Ensure that staff members are available to assist students and faculty.

4. Provide a safe environment for students to study.
